One of New York's most spectacular catering facilities – Tavern on the Green, combines an incredibly romantic atmosphere and sophisticated décor with beautiful views of Central Park. Originally built to house sheep in the past, this reception hall was first turned into a restaurant in 1934. It reopened its doors in 1976, immediately becoming one of the city's premier venues for distinctive social events. Tavern on the Green has been the setting for hundreds of unforgettable celebrations – from small and intimate gatherings to lavish weddings, and from private parties to glamorous Hollywood premieres and openings.

The landmark's exterior was designed by architect Jacob Wrey Mould in rural Victorian Gothic style, and features narrow arched windows with carved spandrels and columns of polished pink granite; lining the Tavern's entrance are over 100 years old street lamps, which originally adorned the Champs Elysee in Paris and a palace in Monaco. The exquisite, 20th century neoclassical glass doors lead to an elegant lobby, complete with an amber chandelier, designed from selected pieces of 19th Century crystal. Tavern on the Green was completely renovated in 1988, and the cocktail lounge was moved to its current location. The upstairs bar features a leaded glass window panel behind the bar depicting a maiden on the back of a lion. Several banquet rooms are available for you to choose from, ranging in capacity from 20 to 3000. Overlooking Central Park, the Tavern's legendary garden is also New York's only outdoor nightclub and has the city's largest outdoor bar. Lanterns and colorful flowers adorn the garden, creating a romantic, one of a kind atmosphere.
